CERTIFIED: SporTT sport development officer Courtnee-mae Clifford (left), and T&T Golf Association (TTGA) president Wayne Baptiste (right) join TTGA coaches for a photo after the certification ceremony at St Andrew's Golf Club.
Coaches work with participants in the final session of the two-day workshop at St Andrew’s Golf Course.
The coaches were presented with their certificates yesterday (Thursday 10th July) following the final session at St Andrew’s Golf Club in Moka, Maraval. This means they can now teach the game of golf to young students at special education schools across the country.
The coaches came from various areas across Trinidad, as well as Tobago, and introduced participants to driving, chipping and putting skills. The aim is to develop both coaches and youth, while growing the sport nationally. Officials also have one eye on preparing a team to participate in the Special Olympics World Games in Chile in 2027.
Officials included Major David Benjamin, chairman SOTT, Mr. Ferdinand Bibby, TTGA president Mr. Wayne Baptiste and Sport Development Officer, Sports Company of Trinidad and Tobago (SporTT), Ms. Courtnee-mae Clifford.
