Welcome to the National Aquatic Centre
Unlike its counterparts—Ato Boldon Stadium and the National Cycling Velodrome—the National Aquatic Centre is tucked out of view of the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway. Yet the facility is no less of a gamechanger for sport in Trinidad and Tobago.
As part of SporTT’s “Couva Campus”, the state-of-the-art mega-facility was built for international, regional & national swimming competition. It was opened on September 30th, 2016. It features a competition pool and training pool, both Olympic size.
This has attracted international visitors and teams keen to enjoy warm weather training for their swimming, synchronised swimming, diving and water polo programmes.
The venue also accommodates 1,900 spectators, with 940 permanent seats and a further 960 bleachers seats.
NAC is part of a major, centralised sporting hub that also includes:
- Ato Boldon Stadium
- The National Cycling Velodrome
- Trinidad and Tobago Football Association Hotel (Home of Football)
- Trinidad and Tobago Football Association Recreational Centre
- Trinidad and Tobago Football Association National Beach Soccer Pitch
The National Aquatic Centre has hosted several record-breaking performances at the Commonwealth Youth Games (Trinbago 2023). Trinidad and Tobago’s own junior champion, Nikoli Blackman, was among the standouts of that competition, earning freestyle gold over 50, 100 and 200 metres.
The National Aquatic Centre is the place for the swimming stars of today and tomorrow!
