SporTT’s 2026 Primary School Cricket Programme is in full swing and this week at Macaulay Government Primary School, something special happened.

Students didn’t just learn cricket drills. They gained life lessons from one of the best.

Denesh Ramdin, former West Indies wicketkeeper-batsman and programme mentor, stepped in to guide the students on lessons both on and off the field. He encouraged them to believe in themselves, embrace the journey, and understand that challenges help build character and resilience.

Sometimes, all it takes is the right mentor to spark a lifetime of purpose. This is the power of mentorship!

🌊 SOLD OUT. 440 ATHLETES. 77 YEARS STRONG. WHO CON 🌊 SOLD OUT. 440 ATHLETES. 77 YEARS STRONG. WHO CONQUERS MARACAS? 🏊‍♀️🏖️

For the first time in 77 years, the Maracas Open Water Swim is completely SOLD OUT, with 440 athletes set to take on the waters this Sunday.

And guess who’s showing up to make the water feel cramped? 💪
🇹🇹 Marena Martinez, the 2026 Carifta Aquatics 5K GOLD MEDALLIST, and now she’s hunting a DOUBLE-DOUBLE; defending BOTH the 3,000m AND 5,000m women’s titles.

But she’s not the only shark in the water:
🐟 Dante Pichery (reigning men’s 1,000m champ) is LEVELING UP to the 3,000m.
🐟 Gianna Picher is back to defend her 1,000m crown.
🐟 11 Special Olympics T&T athletes are racing alongside the full batch of swimmers in the open water.

There’s also a brand-new 500m “First-Timers” race. Snapped up instantly. That’s the kind of FOMO we love to see.
📅 Sunday
⏰ First splash: 7:30 AM (500m)
📍 Maracas Bay

To the 440 who got in… we see you. Swim loud. Swim proud!💪🏾
To everyone else? Start training for 2027. The waitlist is already crying. 😅

Congratulations to the Aquatics Sports Association of Trinidad and Tobago (ASATT) and Subway for delivering a sold-out, multi-generational, fully integrated event.

See you there!

Cricket came alive at Signal Hill Government Prima Cricket came alive at Signal Hill Government Primary School 🏏

Yesterday, Coach Ancil Nedd led an engaging session as part of SporTT’s Primary School Cricket Programme.

From flip the cones to sharp catching drills, students were fully involved, building coordination, confidence, and core cricket skills.

This is where it begins. Structured coaching, consistent engagement, and the foundation for long-term athlete development and future national talent.

From TODAY, it’s go time. All eyes turn to the 20 From TODAY, it’s go time.

All eyes turn to the 2026 Speedo Fort Lauderdale Open, running April 29 – May 2, and right in the middle of a world-class lineup is T&T’s 🇹🇹 Dylan Carter and Liam Carrington.

Carter, a proven global contender and history-maker for T&T, is lining up in FIVE events (check comments) as he sharpens for the CAC Games. Calm, clinical, and always dangerous in the sprint, you already know what he’s capable of.

Then there’s Liam… fresh off a nine-gold masterclass at CARIFTA (yes, nine 👀). The young gun isn’t easing in, he’s diving straight into deep waters against Olympic champions and world record holders.

Live results for the competition will be available on Meet Mobile, along with live recapping of each session on SwimSwam.com

🇹🇹 All the best, Dylan and Liam, swim fast, stay fearless, and fly the red, white and black high! 💪🏽🌊
