SporTT – Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What areas are SporTT responsible for? 

The Sports Company of Trinidad and Tobago has responsibility for four major areas of national sport development: funding sport; facilities construction, maintenance and management; elite athlete support; and sport for all. 

  1. How do national athletes access SporTT facilities? 

National athletes are priority users of national sporting facilities. To access a SporTT facility, the athlete must make the request through the national governing body (NGB) for their sport. Once the facility is available at that date/time, the booking will be confirmed and the athlete granted access. 

  1. How do I book a SporTT facility to host an event/activity? 

To book a SporTT facility is simple: visit https://sportt-tt.com/book-a-facility/*** and select your venue, date and time. Once the space is available, you will be allowed complete your registration. Fill out the details on the booking form and you will receive a message stating that your registration has been completed. A booking agent will subsequently reach out to you to request further information and/or to confirm your booking. 

  1. What facilities are under the ambit* of SporTT? 

SporTT currently has responsibility for 16 venues. They are: The National Cycling Velodrome (Couva), the National Aquatic Centre (Couva), the National Racquet Sports Centre (Tacarigua), Hasely Crawford Stadium (Port of Spain), Ato Boldon Stadium (Couva), Larry Gomes Stadium (Malabar), Mannie Ramjohn Stadium (Marabella), Dwight Yorke Stadium (Tobago), Eastern Regional Indoor Sporting Arena (Tacarigua), Sangre Grande Indoor Sporting Facility, Mayaro Indoor Sporing Facility, Moruga Multipurpose Sport and Youth Facility, Woodbrook Youth Facility (Port of Spain), Gilbert Park, Jean Pierre Complex, South Western Regional Sporting Arena (CONFIRM 16). 

  1. Does SporTT participate in school tours and visits?

  1. Which sports/NGBs (National Governing Bodies) do SporTT have oversight of? 

SporTT provides oversight and support to 15 NGBs: the Aquatic Sports Association of Trinidad and Tobago (ASATT), the National Association of Athletics Administrations (NAAA), the National Basketball Federation of Trinidad and Tobago (NBFTT), the Trinidad and Tobago Boxing Association (TTBA), the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB), the Trinidad and Tobago Cycling Federation (TTCF), the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA), the Trinidad and Tobago Golf Association (TTGA), the Trinidad and Tobago Gymnastics Federation (TTGF), the Trinidad and Tobago Hockey Board (TTHB), the Trinidad and Tobago Netball Association (TTNA), the Trinidad and Tobago Rugby Union (TTRU), the Trinidad and Tobago Sailing Association (TTSA), the Tennis Association of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) and the Trinidad and Tobago Volleyball Federation (TTVF).

  1. How can I sign up as a provider of goods/services to SporTT? 

To do business with SporTT, you must first register on the Procurement Depository in accordance with Regulation No. 8 of the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Property (Pre-Qualification and Pre-Selection) Regulations, 2021.   1. How can I get support for a community sport initiative? 

Organisations are asked to refer their requests at this time to the Ministry of Sport & Community Development (www.mscd.gov.tt/sport/) or the Sport and Culture Fund, Office of the Prime Minister (www.opm.gov.tt/about/business-and-departments-of-government-under-the-opm/).
