EASTERN REGIONAL SPORTING COMPLEX: WHERE EAST MEETS SPORT

One of several multisport facilities across the country, the Eastern Regional Sporting Complex is a major hub for sporting activity in east Trinidad. Just south of Eddie Hart Recreation Ground in Tacarigua (Orange Grove Road), the facility provides a home to national hockey as well as a variety of indoor sports. It also shares its compound with the National Racquet Sports Centre, one of the best of its kind in the region.

The adjacent National Hockey Centre is the home to the Trinidad and Tobago Hockey Board (TTHB). The venue’s specialised astro turf hockey surface has hosted international hockey events, including the 2017 FIH Hockey World League.

The hockey field has had its drainage system revamped and is currently being resurfaced by SporTT, meaning it will soon provide local players with a domain for elite hockey once again.

The Complex opened its doors in 1997, one year after the Hockey Centre was commissioned.
