National Racquet Centre

The National Racquet Sports Centre – Tacarigua

Officially opened on September 9th, 2016, this state-of-the-art facility was built for competition and training at International, regional & national levels for a majority of Racquet Sports such as Lawn Tennis, Table-Tennis, Squash, Badminton, Racquet Ball and many more.

The other facilities within the complex’s compound are:

• National Hockey Centre
• Eastern Regional Sporting Complex
• Eddie Hart Savannah grounds

The National Racquet Sports Centre has Eight (8) Outdoor Courts – One (1) Centre Court (asphalt) – with seating for 1500, two (2) Outdoor Upper Courts – (Cement), Two (2) Outdoor Lower Courts – (Asphalt), and three more outdoor courts with two (2) being Clay Courts as well as four (4) Indoor Courts (asphalt).

Additionally, at the centre features scoreboards, a monitor, court screens and tennis radar guns to capture the speed of the ball.

The facility has hosted the Davis Cup Americas – Group IV (World Cup of Tennis), Trinity Cup, ITF M15 Masters, CAREBACO Championships 2017 & 2023 (Badminton), National Elite and Junior Championships – Tennis, Table-Tennis and Badminton (annually), Easter Tennis Grand Prix,

National Racquet Sports Centre has also facilitated various programmes to the benefit of local athletes, coaches and officials as well as those from our neighboring countries.

For tennis athletes, having the opportunities to train and compete to gain valuable ITF points right here in T&T is vital for their development.

The National Racquet Sports Centre is more than just tennis. This venue has brought together friends, families, organisations and the wider public to host sporting events, meetings and social events such as ceremonies, cultural events, Christmas functions, car shows and dog shows.
