The Special Olympics Trinidad and Tobago got off t The Special Olympics Trinidad and Tobago got off to an exciting and heartfelt start on Saturday 10th May at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, with BOCCE (a ball game where players aim to get closest to a small target ball) leading the charge and setting the tone for the games ahead.

The occasion was marked by the presence of The Honourable Phillip Watts, Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, and The Honourable Vandana Mohit, Minister of the People, Social Development and Family Services, who delivered a warm ceremonial launch.

A true celebration of ability, resilience, and unity through sport.

🇹🇹 TT Legions crowned champions of inaugural 🇹🇹 TT Legions crowned champions of inaugural West Indies Breakout T20 League! 🏆

Trinidad and Tobago’s Legions cemented their place in the history books by capturing the first ever West Indies Breakout T20 League title after defeating the Leeward Islands Thunder by 17 runs on Saturday! 🙌🏽

In the action-packed final at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy (BLCA) in Tarouba, the hosts posted a total of 181 for five in their 20 overs after being sent in to bat 🏏

In the second innings of the game, the visitors made a valiant attempt to reach their target, however, they were restricted to a score of 164 for nine at the end of their allotted 20 overs 💪🏽

Kamil Pooran stole the show for the TT Legions as the opener smashed an explosive 73 runs from 44 balls which included seven fours and four sixes 💥

On the bowling side of TT Legions’ performance, Man-of-the-Match, Jyd Goolie, ended with impressive figures of 3-13, while McKenny Clarke and Navin Bidaisee took 3-34 and 2-27, respectively ✅

T&T LEGIONS 181-5 in 20 overs (Kamil Pooran 73, Joshua Da Silva 40 not out, Joshua James 26 not out, Amir Jangoo 23; Karima Gore 2-22, Micah McKenzie 2-29)
