Mr. Lester Lal personifies dedication to service through his commitment to development in youth, social, community and sport development.

With a longstanding association to sport, Mr. Lal has served as a sports administrator, helping the T&TEC cricket team earn back-to-back promotions from South Zone Division II to the National Premiership in the role of team manager. Under his management, T&TEC earned the runner-up spot in the Carib Sunday League 50-over tournament and a third-place National League finish. He was also manager of T&TEC’s 2009 knockout-winning Super League team. Mr. Lal also served as assistant secretary of Powergen Penal Sports Club.

Beyond sport, Mr. Lal has also supported several community-based programmes and initiatives, including the Penal Beautification Project and as secretary of the Special Children Committee.

Professionally, he has also built a career in communications at T&TEC, and has advanced his passions through studies in management, public relations, coaching, and safeguarding children.

Mr. Lal’s track record of leadership, team success and practical, strategic insight, and his hands-on experience provide a boost to SporTT’s evolving sport and youth development agenda.

  • Mr. Hayden Duke, Director

One of three Tobago-based members of the SporTT board, Mr. Hayden Duke has a passion for community enhancement, which is complemented by his advocacy for sport and youth empowerment.

As a trained nursing assistant, Mr. Duke has contributed significantly to sport, specialising in sport therapy and injury prevention. He has also completed specialised training with the English Football Association (FA) in injury treatment and soccer-specific athlete preparedness.

Mr. Duke has also made notable social contributions and is in his second term as PSA’s Industrial Relations Officer. He is also president of the Mount Grace/Harmony Hall Village Council and Mount Grace Sports Club, as well as founder of Crown Royal Entertainment — a community-based platform supporting multi-sport tournaments and sponsorship initiatives.

Mr. Duke’s resume also includes a role as programme coordinator and adviser of the Future Stars Initiative, a Tobago grassroots youth football programme for children ages 6 to 17, where he mentors young athletes and promotes holistic development through sport.

With a unique blend of technical knowledge and community-oriented focus, Mr. Duke’s experience supports SporTT’s outreach initiatives and efforts to build robust community-based sport pathways.

  • Ms. Nefertari Kernahan, Director

Ms. Nefertari Kernahan is an entrepreneur, educator and health and wellness advocate. Her wealth of experience in service delivery, customer engagement and the business environment brings a fresh perspective to community outreach, youth engagement and health-centred sport programming to the SporTT board.

Ms. Kernahan has a deep connection to sport, with a BSc from Manuel Fajardo University of Physical Culture and Sports Sciences in Cuba, alongside certifications in Spanish, Early Childhood Care and Education and aesthetics. She has worked extensively with children in early learning and development settings. In addition, her background as an aerobics instructor reflects a personal commitment to health, fitness, and community well-being.

As a director, Ms. Kernahan contributes to broadening participation in sport, supporting inclusive programmes and strengthening the company’s connection with diverse communities across Trinidad and Tobago.

  • Ms. Sharon Winchester, Director

  • Mr. Adrian Ali, Director

With a diverse collection of skills and experience, Adrian Ali stands at the nexus of sport, education and community development. He is active as a Councillor in the Chaguanas Borough Corporation, an educator and sportsman, and lends these talents to the role of SporTT director.

Mr. Ali holds an MSc. degree in Sports Management, a Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Management (FIFA/CIES), and a BSc. in Geography and Environmental and Natural Resource Management.

On the sporting field, he formerly served as president and captain of the Marchin Patriots Sports Club and previously represented the Trinidad and Tobago ‘A’ Team and youth teams. Mr. Ali is also a certified Level II cricket coach and served as assistant coach for T&T Legions in the Windies Breakout T20 League.

Mr. Ali’s passion for youth empowerment, community empowerment and participation in sport will help the company advance its mission of building sustainable sport infrastructure and expanding opportunities for participation and excellence in community-based and national sport.

  • Mr. Ndu-Bisi Hall, Director

Mr. Ndu-Bisi Hall is well-positioned to support sport and youth development as part of the SporTT board of directors. He boasts years of experience in sport, fitness and youth development and community service.

Mr. Hall attributes his focus on discipline and leadership to his service as a member of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force and has been a driving force for sport and fitness in Tobago. He also serves on the board of the Trinidad and Tobago Triathlon Federation, and as owner and head coach of Above Average Fitness, where he has trained and motivated athletes at various levels.

As a certified fitness instructor, diver, Level I World Triathlon Coach, and Level C Football Coach, Mr. Hall brings both technical expertise and practical leadership to the Board, as well as skills in conflict resolution, team building, and critical thinking.

Mr. Hall champions youth empowerment and building a culture of resilience through sport in support of the company’s goals to create vibrant sporting communities and foster athletic excellence.

  • Mr. Darren Ali, Director

Mr. Darren Ali brings extensive expertise in governance, finance, and risk management to the SporTT board of directors, and a focus on accountability, strategic planning and organisational excellence.

His extensive experience in leadership and regulatory oversight comes from serving in key positions such as internal Audit Manager at Caribbean Airlines and currently, as Director of Campus Audit and Advisory Services at the University of the West Indies. Mr. Ali holds an MSc in International Finance and certification in Risk Management Assurance, ACCA Accounting, and Internal Auditing.

His core competencies include accounting and international accounting standards, regulatory compliance, audit planning, risk assessment, data analysis, and reporting frameworks. He also believes in the transformative role of sport as a driver of opportunity and national pride and is passionate about youth and community development.

As a director, Mr. Ali supports a strong SporTT’s governance framework, enhanced financial oversight, and the development of sustainable sport infrastructure and programmes that deliver meaningful and measurable impact for communities.

  • Mr. Deryck Mathura, Director

Mr. Deryck Mathura joins the Board of Directors with a distinguished background in business leadership, public service and community engagement.

Holder of an LCCI Diploma in Selling and Sales Management from London Chamber of Commerce and Industry and an MBA from Anglia Ruskin University, Mr. Mathura has broad professional experience as a lecturer, business co-owner and operator and Local Government Representative for Inverness/Princes Town South.

He is also known for his cultural activism and commitment to education, cultural preservation and youth empowerment. His service extends to sport, with interests in karate, table tennis, swimming and marksmanship as a member of the South Trinidad Rifle Association.

Mr. Mathura’s belief in sport, culture and community-building as major avenues towards national development, and his well-rounded experience as a cultural and youth development activist, provide impetus for SporTT’s continued thrust towards advancing professional sport and Sport for All in Trinidad and Tobago.

  • Mr. Daryan Warner, Director

A seasoned global executive and finance professional, Mr. Daryan Warner brings a wealth of leadership experience to the sport industry, shaped by a career spanning real estate, marketing, and international business development. With a strong track record of guiding organisations through strategic planning, financial stewardship, and cross-cultural management, Mr. Warner is skilled at driving growth and strengthening long-term sustainability.

He is CEO and Managing Director of DW Property Holdings Ltd., where he oversees strategic direction, financial planning, investor relations, and large-scale property development. He also previously served as CEO of the Centre of Excellence and has worked as a consultant in marketing, real estate investment, and international business development, advising companies across the region and Asia.

His international experience includes working with Hyundai Corporation in South Korea as a marketing consultant, supporting market development initiatives.

Mr. Warner brings a forward-thinking, results-driven approach to SporTT. He holds an MBA in Finance, a BSc in Social Sciences, and certifications in leadership training, international sales, market development, and technology management.

  • Mr. Teddy Rajan, Director

With over two decades of experience leading large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects that drive sustainable, long-term impact, Mr. Teddy Rajan is no stranger to business transformation. He has a strong command of leadership, change management, strategic planning, regulatory compliance, and process improvement.

Mr. Rajan shaped major regional initiatives through senior roles at the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) in Barbados, where he oversaw the planning, management, and coordination of examination administration and security. He played a key role in designing and implementing governance policies and strengthening regional examination systems. His expertise in business analytics and data governance has supported smarter decision-making and improved service delivery.

He also contributed to national transformation efforts at iGovTT as a senior business transformation professional, as well as making his mark as a business analyst with the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB). His work consistently focuses on aligning technology, data, and process improvements to organisational needs.

He holds an MBA with a specialisation in strategic planning, a BSc in Computer Science, a Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Business, and professional certifications in project management, change management, and business analysis.
