SporTT is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified individual for the following position:
COURER / DRIVER
JOB SUMMARY: The incumbent is responsible for the transportation of personnel, documents and equipment to various locations across Trinidad and Tobago on behalf of SporTT. He/she is expected to carry out his/her duties safely and efficiently to ensure the highest level of service to internal and external stakeholders.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan route and requirements by studying schedule or ad-hoc requests by the office.
- Prepare company vehicles by conducting operator inspection to determine road worthiness.
- Collects, sorts and distributes incoming/outgoing mail, packages and other material to the relevant personnel.
- Fulfil special requests from the office by picking up and delivering items as directed.
- Complete transactions on behalf of SporTT at banking institutions and other service providers.
- Conduct all duties in conformance with Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) requirements and within the framework of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act.
- Perform any other job duties as required by the job function.
- Provide transportation of personnel, documents and equipment as approved in a safe and uncompromising manner.
- Maintain daily vehicular logs and maintain fuel records.
- Perform daily routine maintenance of assigned vehicle to ensure that the interior and exterior of the vehicle is always kept clean and report on findings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Training as evidenced by possession of a School Leaving Certificate.
- Safety First and Good Driving Habits – Defensive Driving Certificate.
- Certificate of Good Character from Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of eighteen (18) months in a similar position will be an asset.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of the principles of basic automotive operations sufficient to detect defects in operations.
- Knowledge of Trinidad and Tobago road network and locations of Government Ministries, Departments and other agencies.
- Skill in the safe operation of a light motor vehicle.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and members of the public.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Ability to observe and maintain confidentiality in the performance of duties.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
