The Ato Boldon Stadium (ABS) is one of the premier venues in Central Trinidad, both for sport and other recreational activities. The Couva facility, under the management of The Sports Company of Trinidad and Tobago Ltd. (SporTT) is currently undergoing an upgrade of the playing surface and will severely restrict access, interrupt the traffic flow and emit noise and dust.
The construction works commenced on 4 January 2023 and will focus on the repair works to the main field, which has been host to international, regional and school football matches. The expected completion date is 30 April 2023.
During this period, the following areas will be off limits to non-authorized personnel as these areas a designated for construction activities:
- The southern carpark and tunnel.
- The external area south of the main field.
The office and other spaces at the Ato Boldon Stadium remain accessible and all visitors / staff are asked to proceed with caution upon entry to the main access road leading into the ABS, since this access road would ALSO be used for construction vehicles.
