SporTT is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified individual for the following position: PROJECT MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY:
To ensure successful development of project packages at the Pre-Construction stage for the subsequent execution by Projects Design & Administration, Facilities and Projects Execution Departments, as well as special projects as mandated by our line Ministry of Sport and Community Development (MSCD). Achieving this by including the proper Employer requirements: scopes, specifications, details, etc., in all the tender packages and produced information to achieve an effective implementation.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the formulation, preparation and update of all policies and standard operating procedures of the Department.
  • Develop Project Concept Reports (PCRs), Scope of works and Request for Proposal or Quotation (RFP/Qs) Participation in the tender and evaluation process of Procurement of Service providers according to the OPR regulations, this applicable to new construction, refurbishment, and upgrade projects.
  • Contribute with the PD&A QS to finalize WBS and risk assessment for the purpose of tender documentations.
  • Preparation of Notes to the Facilities Sub-Committee and Procurement Disposal Advisory Committee (PDAC) with recommendations for engagement of contractors.
  • Preparation of site visit minutes.
  • Preparation of Letter of Award (LOA).
  • Stakeholder management.
  • Conduct mandatory site visits and meetings with stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports and tracking sheets for all assigned projects to HoPD&A.
  • Prepare External Reports as required.
  • Performs related work as may be required by the job functions.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • University Degree in Project Management, Construction Management or Engineering Field i.e. Civil, Structural, Electrical or Mechanical or Post Graduate Qualifications in a related field.
  • Certificate of training in Project Management such as PMI/PMP will be an asset.
  • Or any equivalent combination of experience and training

EXPERIENCE

  • At least five (5) years’ experience in a management position of medium to large scale projects in construction or sport type projects. Vast experience in Scope Development and basic experience in Public Procurement process will be an asset.

  • Working knowledge of Project Management Techniques, principles, and practices with an emphasis on project planning and analysis.
  • Excellent Communication skills.
  • Detail oriented, excellent organizational skills, quality focused.
  • Excellent financial and risk management skills.
  • Exhibit strong judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent project writing, appraisal, monitoring, and evaluation skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite i.e. MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Basic knowledge of AUTOCAD
