The Government of Trinidad and Tobago is supporting the Amateur Swimming Association of Trinidad & Tobago (ASATT) to host the CCCAN Championships in 2017. In this regard, the Honourable Darryl Smith, Minister of Sport & Youth Affairs will make a presentation to ASATT on Tuesday 23 May 2017 from 10:00am at the Ministry’s Head Office, 2 Elizabeth Street, St. Clair.
The presentation represents the government’s financial contribution to the CCCAN Championships in Swimming, Diving, Water Polo and Synchronised Swimming, being hosted at the National Aquatic Centre in Couva from 24 June to 2 July 2017. Athletes, coaches and spectators from 33 Caribbean and Central American countries will arrive on our shores for the event.
The local governing body won the right to host the major junior event on the strength of the new facility, which is managed by the Sports Company of Trinidad & Tobago (SporTT).
Minister Smith, Adam Montserin (CEO, SporTT) and Wendell Lai Hing (President, ASATT) are expected to attend and speak to the support being given by the government.
