NOTICE

The Sports Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (SporTT) wishes to advise that the pools at the National Aquatic Centre will be closed to the public from 24 February-23 March to facilitate scheduled maintenance. However, SporTT aims to minimise the impact of the closure on the aquatic sports community.

Pool Closure for Maintenance

The facility features three pools: warm-up, competition and diving. SporTT’s comprehensive maintenance schedule ensures the pools continue to provide peak performance for all its users, especially our national athletes.

On 10 February, a meeting was held between SporTT and the Aquatic Sports Association of Trinidad and Tobago (ASATT) to discuss the maintenance schedule, and it was agreed that the pools would be closed to all aquatic activities from February 24 to March 7, 2025.

A partial reopening will take place on 8 March, with training of our national athletes for the upcoming Carifta Games being the priority. Maintenance of the external warm-up pool will continue during this period, through to 23 March, with full reopening of the pools planned for 24 March.

Schedule Maintenance Works

The works to be conducted on the National Aquatic Centre pools are as follows:

  • Backwashing of filters and water treatment
  • Installation of starting blocks

Extended Operating Hours

Since 12 February, national athletes have been benefitting from greater access to training at the National Aquatic Centre pools, with opening hours now 4:00 am to 8:00 pm. Previously, the pools were open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Bookings for training sessions must be made directly through the SporTT Bookings Department or via ASATT. To contact the Bookings Department, email [email protected].

SporTT appreciates the cooperation and understanding of all athletes, coaches, and stakeholders during this period, which is necessary to maintain the continued quality and safety of the facility for all users.
