Ten University of the West Indies Faculty of Sport graduates are being urged to use their new sport science qualifications to the benefit of society.

The call was made by Tobias Ottley, SporTT Head of Elite Athlete Wellbeing, as he highlighted the graduates’ pivotal role in shaping the future of sport in Trinidad and Tobago, and by extension, the Caribbean. The ceremony was the culmination of two sporting programmes: the BSc Sport Kinetics and Certificate in the Art and Science of Coaching.

Speaking during UWI’s St. Augustine Academy of Sport (SAAS) graduation on Monday 20 November, Ottley told the graduates that they are only just beginning.“With these qualifications comes responsibility,” he stated. “Today celebrates your hard-earned success, but the true journey begins now. You belong to a special class that will not only nurture your personal growth but also contribute to moulding the next generation of sports enthusiasts and, consequently, the future of our country.”
