Earlier this week (on Tuesday 15th August 2023), t Earlier this week (on Tuesday 15th August 2023), the Minister of Sport and Community Development, The Honourable Shamfa Cudjoe, welcomed the 10 Jamaican representatives from the GC Foster College of Physical Education and Sport that would facilitate the training of 65 T&T participants in sport for youth development 🙌🏽

In collaboration with the Ministry of Sport and Community Development (MSCD) and SporTT, this initiative will train coaches/sport practitioners within the education system at the early childhood, primary and secondary levels ✅

The list includes 65 NAAA, UWI, and the Ministry of Education participants 📋

The Honourable Shamfa Cudjoe commended participants for committing their time and offered a few encouraging words to the participants as she urged them to actively share their newfound knowledge following the training workshop 📚

She also highlighted that this endeavor marks the initial phase of an enduring collaboration and longstanding partnership aimed at nurturing sporting excellence by facilitating the exchange of knowledge among the youth throughout Trinidad and Tobago 🤝🏽

The course runs until next Wednesday August 30th, 2023. 📆

They're powered by the Sports Company of Trinidad and Tobago (SporTT) and the Ministry of Sport and Community Development (MSCD) & If you have not noticed yet, our annual ‘Youth Sports Camps’ are underway across the country! 🙌🏽

🇹🇹 14-year-old, Fraser, claims National Tabl 🇹🇹 14-year-old, Fraser, claims National Table Tennis Senior Women Championships! 🏓

Chloe Fraser won her first ever national senior women`s singles title, at the age of 14, as the youngster made her name at the Trinidad and Tobago Table Tennis Association’s National Seniors Tournament 2023 on Tuesday at the Centre of Excellence, Macoya 🙌🏽

Fraser, representing Crusaders, defeated Imani Edwards-Taylor of Queen`s Park (QPCC) in straight games in the final (11:4, 11:6,11:9, 11:9) ✅

The 14-year-old prodigy, who has been training in France for the last year, will be returning to Paris next month to continue her development. Her opponent, Edwards-Taylor,17, has been consistent over the last year in senior tournaments with this being her fourth successive silver medal in women singles 💪🏽

In the men`s doubles final, the Arima Hawks pair of veteran and multiple champion Reeza Burke and Arun Roopnarine held their nerves at the end to win a thriller against QPCC`s Yuvraaj Dookram and Derron Douglas 3-2 (11:8, 5:11, 5:11, 12:10) 👍🏽

Eighteen years after he did it for the first time as an 18-year-old, Khaleel Asgarali has recaptured the men’s singles title at the championships 🏆

The US-based athlete was at his best as he beat all three of his CAC (Central American and Caribbean Games) qualifying tournament teammates for gold on Sunday, at the National Racquet Centre, Orange Grove Main Road, Tacarigua 🥇

It turned out to be a dream day for the Asgarali family as Khaleel’s father, Nazruddin, a former top player and Caribbean veterans’ (over-45) champion, took down former top-ten player Franklyn Seechan 11-8, 11-7. 9-11, 11-2 for this title 🥳
